Every Bet, Large or small, corporate or personal, puts you into a game.And whatever the game, at some point your participation ends. Sometimes it ends because the game is over for all the players. sometimes because you have chosen to exit the game.Once you have placed the bet, though , you always have to choose one of three broad options, which we will call option A, option B, option C. A is to stay in game as an active player until someone or something boots you out.B is to quit this game & them enter another that will allow you to go after the same kind of results you have been aiming for.And C is to quit this game & go into different kind of game that produces different different type of results. When we think about whether we want to stay & play, Quit & play again or quit and start different kind of game , we try to figure out 3 things : current satisfaction, prediction about next results of staying in , & our going forward intent.Then we combine these 3 in to a simple estimator that we use to assess which of the options (A,B,C) looks like the best for us & we choose that.
