Mumbai, Mumbaikars and Corporation(MCGM) !
Kehte hai ke, har koi business ka ek season time hota hai, jaise retail business ka diwali ya christmas , some auspicious days for gold business etc.. So what is the peak season time for Bureaucrats? More particularly for those who are connected with Mumbai Municipal Corporation.Undoubtedly, the peak season for the said bureaucrats is that of monsoon season. However this time the said season has not reached to the peak level because of shortfall in the rain till date. Nonetheless hardship, difficulties, problem etc remains the same as they were in the previous years. The said commonest problems are

- Pathetic condition of roads despite monsoon not in the full swing
- Accumulation of Garbage
- Increase in diseases like Malaria, Dengue, etc
- Increase in stress and strain due to traffic hazards
- Acute Shortage of water
MCGM (BMC) has to increase the speed of resolving these issues especially in monsoon. I think big amount of change is required in the working pattern of MCGM. From process to functional! Having said that its not only the role of MCGM or Corporator alone who can do this as problems in Mumbai are not so simple but multifarious. We the Mango man (aamaadmi) have to work in tandem with Corporator / BMC to ensure work gets done.
1. Usage of Pavor block should be totally avoided for highways, main roads etc but should be utilized only for the construction of footpath and service roads only.
2. Ensure all the gutter and nalas are cleared in your area so that water cannot clogged.
3. Awareness about BMC related monsoon health camps and other facilities which area people can utilize with help of Corporator.
4. At the traffic prone areas/ junction, traffic Constable should be help by the social workers also.
5.Synergistic coordination is highly required among different authorities namely BMC ,MMRDA, State bodies who are entrusted to look after the city of Mumbai. For this, there should be a pressure group in the respective area to persuade bureaucrats, local representative i.e Corporator, MLA and MP to work in tandem irrespective of party affiliation.
6. Government has to come up with innovative way of how they can enhance the water supply chain system and create some new ways of reusing the used water and at the same time ,also citizen has to ensure they dont waste water unnecessarily.
