Time spent in Chembur Police station
Just thought of sharing my experience with you all.
I lost my mobile phone or rather mobile was stolen near Swastik chember, Chembur. I thought of going to near by police station to file the case.
Incident took place at around 6.45 pm. I reached Chembur Police Station at around 6.55 pm.
Looking at police station, it reminded me of movie scenes which showcase police station scenario. I can say in one word “DITTOOO”….
I asked Halwaldar out there ,
Me: I want to file a complaint for Mobile lost.
Hawaldar 1: Tikadun ja..
Me: Mobile ghum ho gaya hai, so aap mera FIR likhoge???
Halwadar 2( Mr. Patil) : Basa ikade, haan to kay jhala???
Me: I told my story to him…For 5 mins we were only discussing whether its lost or stolen?? He said he cannot write a complaint , I have to wait for Mr. Chavhan. I asked him , when he will come, & he said 15 minutes
While I was waiting for Mr. Chavhan to come , interesting thing happen at the police station…
One person was giving statement about how his laptop bag was stolen from car near Saraswat bank. Meanwhile 2nd person came & told sub inspector , my bag got stolen from car & driver was present in the car. We all were like, Strange!!!! Sub Inspector started questioning driver , you are also involved with them , how come someone can take bag from the car when you were there? etc etc & driver was explaining the case. After another 10 mins gaps , 3rd person came in with driver saying the same story & I simply started laughing & asked direct question to sub inspector – Sirji kya iska bhi driver mila hua hai ??? He gave me a tough look but people around me started questioning him saying there is a gang who operates from Chembur Naka to swastik chembers. You need to catch hold of these guys.. Finally they realized seriousness of these cases & started questioning internally. ( Te kay chal la aaya bag chori cha ??? bagh re baba)
In another 15 mins , 4th similar case came & the only difference was instead of bag it was ladies purse which got stolen from the car.
For a moment I just forgot that I came here to file my complaint.
After almost waiting for 1 hour, Mr Chavhan came. Meanwhile Halwaldar(Mr.Patil) who told me to wait for Mr. Chavhan went back to home as his duty was over. I asked Mr Chavhan,
Me: me tumcha ek taas pasun wait karta hota…
Chavhan: Koni sangitla me tumcha case ghenar ?? hey maza kade naay.. .
( after hearing this , I just could not hold my anger & shouted inside police station no one is filing a simple FIR for stolen mobile.)
After my outburst , things started moving, seniors came into picture & one hawaldar started writing my complaint. Because of not knowing my IMEI number, I was not able to file the FIR but my complaint is registered & once I submit IMEI , FIR will be registered too.
One good thing in the end happened was they said sorry for keeping me wait for such a long time.
PS: people who are travelling in that area especially with Bag around, please beware!!!!!!!!!!
