To get an Entry is simple but Exit ,just too difficult !

I am tempted to write this article because of the incidence happened with me in ICICI bank.

As everybody is aware that stock market is down, lot of security companies are trying hard to get business and to sustain, brokerages have gone down and on bank side, government has allowed banks to decide saving interest rate and this has also caused a great competition among banks.

I have an ICICI bank and demat account having 4% interest rate and 55 paise brokerage charge respectively, being normal account like any other aam aadmi.

This image is used only as a reference.

I decided to close demat and bank account, as it makes no sense to pay such a high brokerage against the competitor and giving the same service.

I called the call center executive and told that I want to close the account. He then asked me a reason which I explained to him and then finally he told that to close an account, you have to go to bank only and you cannot do it online.

It is painful to have experience that in the event of open an account the concerned banks persuade to the extend of visiting the residence, does all the necessary things required to be done and gives you plenty of promises but when it comes to closing it is totally other way around.

Nonetheless, I went to bank and told that I want to close the account and again reason and explanation. There was no sign of retaining a customer in turn I was told that first you have to go to icicidirect to close demat account , which will take atleast 7 days and after that come to us for closing of bank account. The said information was not provided on phone.

Why don’t they allow closing of an account procedure online? Let customer does the initial work online and then for final closure visit the bank only once.

I know what they must be thinking , ek customer ja raha hai to jane do, waise bhi premier customer thodi hai!

After this event, I was just thinking, this phenomena is everywhere , i.e “To get an Entry is simple but Exit ,just too difficult !”

Think about this !
